Kebanyakan pindah mendukung rejim Bashar Al Assad, karena ditawarkan jika kuasai sebuah wilayah akan menjadi miliknya.
Kelompok oposisi sebelumnya juga seperti itu. Namun, ada pihak yang hanya berpangku tangan dan usai perang berakhir, baru datang mengambil gambar agar dapat pendanaan dari Yordania dan sekutu.
